The French Quarter of New Orleans is what most tourists come to see when they visit the city. Set along a bend on the Mississippi River, the main attraction here is the architecture, but it is also a great area for dining and entertainment. You will find here some old buildings that date back to 300 years. Everything here shows of their French influences from wrought iron balconies to red-tiled roof. This place is a beauty!
Mardi Gras is New Orleans’ unique occasion, with festivities that last a 14-day time frame, finishing with the finale on shrove Tuesday, the day preceding Ash Wednesday. Festivities incorporate practically every day marches and a wide range of diversion and merriments that expansion in power as the occasion moves nearer to the end.
Public WWII Museum
The National WWII Museum is a remarkable gallery with drawing in displays and narrative pieces that tell the historical backdrop of WWII as it was battled in Europe and in the Pacific. The exhibition hall is partitioned into three segments, with one segment dedicated to the war in the Pacific. Another gave to the war in Europe and a third structure houses WWII airplane.
Jackson Square is the principal square in the core of the French Quarter, initially known as Place d’Armes. In the focal point of the square, encircled by trees and greenery, is an equestrian sculpture (1856) of General Andrew Jackson. Standing unmistakably toward one side of the square is the milestone St. Louis Cathedral, with its white façade and cone formed towers.
One of the features in the recreation center is the Audubon Zoo. This is a pleasant departure from the bustling city, with lavish grounds and a decent choice of homegrown and outlandish creatures. Probably the most famous occupants of the zoo are the giraffes, panthers, panthers, orangutans, elephants, rhinos, lemurs, and crocodiles (counting the uncommon white gator) just to give some examples.
